Douglas D. Knowles
Mathematics
I was an undergraduate at SUNY Geneseo, near Rochester, where I double majored in Math and Physics. As graduate student in Mathematics I study topology. My research interests are in the study of 3- and 4-dimensional spaces, with the goal of understanding the topological properties of the universe (viewed as a 3 spatial plus 1 temporal dimension object). Personal interests in my free time include board games and cooking. I wanted to join the SEPA team because I am interested in a career as an educator at the college level, and this is a good opportunity to expand my pedagogical knowledge and experience while contributing to STEM education.
